Parrots for each day of the month
His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji has studied the distinctive features and characteristics of each day of the month as per numerology and astrology. He has selected sub-species of parrots by their color, size, and attributes to represent each of the 31 days. It allows the visitor to the Shuka Vana at Datta Peetham, Mysore, India to visit and greet the parrot that symbolizes his or her birth date.
The collection of parrots at Shuka Vana may vary with time as per circumstance and the availability of specific species of parrots, at the discretion of Sri Swamiji.

Amazon Parrot Hanuma talks instantly with Swamiji in front of thousands
This video is about Hanuma, the double Yellow-headed Amazon at the Karyasiddhi Hanuman Temple in Frisco, Texas. Though Hanuma lives in a temple, it was always shy with the public. All this changed when Sri Swamiji visited the temple for the Ground Breaking of Hanuman Temple construction on 7th July 2013. The shy bird felt very comfortable and homely on the shoulders of Sri Swamiji and started speaking and laughing in front thousands of people. The birds says it’s name “Hanuma” (name of the monkey God) and “Jaya Guru Datta” (Victory to the Lord).
